Data Protection Act
I read in a local newsletter recently (not ours incidentally) and noted that they mentioned that people’s details should be kept within their group and not passed onto others. The Data Protection Act requires us to be circumspect in making available personal details. It was interesting to read in a newspaper that some Police Authorities are investigating any leakages that may have occurred. I have found that all of the Police Officers and PCSO’s that I have come into contact with, have always been very professional.
Gardening
After all the snow you will no doubt find that your garden is saturated; what we really need is some windy days to dry everything out. Cutting down the perennials will clear the beds and rejuvenate the plants. The hellebores are budding and should be come into bloom to accompany the snowdrops. In February we should turn our attention to the fruit trees; peaches, almonds and apricots need to be sprayed with deal with the peach leaf curl. This appears on the leaves of the trees, as they curl up and are coloured red. These need to be burnt and not put in the compost bin. February is also the time to prune your roses, wisteria and summer flowering clematis.
Renewal of Rainham Horticultural Society Membership
If you belong to the Rainham Horticultural Society, you will need to renew your membership. This can be done by putting your subscription in an envelope marked with your name and dropping it into 9, Kent View or wait until Norrie catches up with you. We think that the subscription is £1.00 as before, but I do apologise if it has altered.
Rosie’s Funeral
Tony and Vicky would like to thank everyone who sent floral tributes and those who attended the Rosie’s funeral service at Wennington Church. They were deeply touched that her neighbours and friends were there to comfort the family.
Best Wishes to our Friends who are unwell
We send our best wishes to Olive, who is making good progress. To Lynn who fell
on the ice and broke her arm -
